Bio:

It was 1976, at the General Hospital in Calgary. "It's a boy!" Doctor Hunt said to my mother "And he's pissing on me!" That's where my Mom would start if she was telling the story…but I think I will start a few years later with Saturday morning cartoons.

It was a big part of my life as a kid, getting up early to watch shows like Gi Joe, Transformers, and C.O.P.S (The Animated Show). I actually found them very inspiring. I would grab my paper and pencils and start doodling after all of the shows. My mother, bless her heart, saw some of those doodles and encouraged me as she saw the talent I had when it came to drawing.
Many people in my life have influenced my drawing in some way. My uncle Marcel showed me the wonderful world of landscape. My cousin Dallas and I spent many crazy nights in our teenage years drawing and writing stories. And Anne, my mother's friend, bought me books on how to draw famous cartoons like Garfield and the peanuts characters.

After I finished High School I ventured out into the work world. I started working at an auto body shop for a while and soon decided to go back to school to become an artist! I applied at the Alberta College of Art and Design as soon as I found out that they had an animation program. I will never forget my foundation year because of everything I learned and amazing friends I made, including my future bride. I thought I was on the road to becoming an animator, and then the school canceled the program.

I was determined to get my diploma, so I enrolled at the Applied Multi Media Training Centre, as it was my last resort in Calgary. Even though we were done school, some of the guys and I would get together to do some drawing. Over time the group became the regular 5. Vince, Johnny, Nick, Drew and I. We decided to make something of these drawing sessions and Vicious Ambitious the comic book label was born.
